“Matt King as Zeke/The Cowardly Lion was flat-out hilarious and born to play the role… The only song I’ve never liked in the film was “King of the Forest” sung by The Cowardly Lion but I loved how SCT did it. I think the uvula-rattling way Bert Lahr sang it annoyed me but King crooned it straight and the closing harmonies were delicious… THE NOT-SO-GOOD: On the night I attended one of the cast members came out of character and started giggling because another had done something, well honestly, rather tacky considering there were kids there.”
